今日はLincoln's Birthday。祝日ではあるけれど、カリフォルニアで定められた祭日でなくて、大学は休みではありませんでした。会社も休みではないようです。けれども、小学校等は休み。私の通っているESLも休みでした。
２月第３月曜の来週は、Presidents' Dayでこれはカリフォルニアで定められている祭日で、３連休です☆

先週アメフトのスーパーボウルでの国歌斉唱を聞き逃して、YouTubeで確認したら、その他のアーティストの国歌斉唱もいろいろ出てたのでチェックしまくりました。
なぜか、他国の国歌だけれど、勝手に気分が盛り上がってしまうのです。
歌詞がわかってないから、曲調によるところが大きいと思います。
YouTubeに今日現在Upされているスーパーボウルで国歌（National Anthem）を歌った人は、今回のビリー・ジョエル(Billy Joel)、マライア・キャリー(Mariah Carey)、フェイス・ヒル(Faith Hill)、ビヨンセ(Beyonce)、そして今年のグラミー賞を受賞したディクシー・チックス（Dixie Chicks）など、まあ豪華！
その中でも一番心が震えたのは、ホイットニー・ヒューストン(Whitney Houston)が歌ったものでしたでした。聴きたい方は→こちらからどうぞ。

今週のアメリカンアイドルにダイアナ・ロスが出演された。
こんな大御所が出演されちゃうなんて、しかも１曲サクッと歌っちゃうなんてアメリカンアイドルの視聴率のすごさが垣間見れた。

明日のアメリカンアイドルが歌う歌はダイアナ・ロス関連のパレード。
だと思う。
知らない曲もあったから、なんとも言えない。
その中の一人が歌ったのは、「If we hold on together」
１９９０年に今井美樹＆石田純一＆松下由樹出演のドラマ「想い出にかわるまで」の主題歌だった曲。
姉がはまって見てたこのドラマ。
便乗して見てたワタシは当時中学生でこのどろどろドラマに衝撃を覚えていたけれど
この曲は心にジーンと来ていいなって思ってた。
久しぶりに聴いた曲、想い出にかわらないうちにブログにアップします。

YouTubeで "Diana Ross"で検索したらザクザクでてくるのでうれしい。
歌詞も出てるのでこれが一番いいかな。(でもいつか消えちゃうのよね)

昨日のエンジェルスの試合はワタシにとって始めての大リーグ観戦でとってもエキサイティングなものでしたが、やっぱり日本のプロ野球観戦とは違うところもあります。
まず、あきらかに違うのが、鳴り物の応援がないこと。これはとってもイイ！
お菓子を売ってる売り子さんはいますけど、ビールの売り子がまずいないこと。
あと、これは大リーグがじゃなくてエンジェルスタジアムの場合、ホームチームが3塁側にいること。
そして、7回の表が終わった時点で歌を歌うこと。
全部を覚えていないのですが、エーンジェルスってとことワンッ・ツーッ・スリーッのとこを一緒になって声に出せば十分楽しめるし、立ち上がって体を揺らしてるだけでも十分、参加してる気になります。
スタジアムに足を運んだ時は、是非、この歌まで居て楽しんでください。
